(Jakarta, 16/6/2013) Satu gelar berhasil diraih Indonesia selaku tuan rumah Djarum Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2013 lewat pasangan ganda putra Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan. Pasangan peringkat 13 dunia ini sukses menaklukkan ganda putra rangking satu dunia, Lee Yong Dae/Ko Sung Hyun dari Korea, dengan skor 21-14, 21-17.

"Syukur Alhamdulillah kami bisa memberikan gelar bagi Indonesia. Tadi sebenarnya sudah lelah, tapi berkat dukungan supporter, jadi tidak terasa" kata Ahsan pada konferensi pers pasca kemenangannya dan Hendra.

Penampilan Hendra/Ahsan sungguh memukau ribuan publik Istora Senayan, pada game pertama mereka bahkan unggul jauh meninggalkan Lee/Ko hingga 19-8.

Permainan sempat imbang saat Lee/Ko menyamakan kedudukan 15-15 di game kedua. Bahkan untuk pertama kalinya, Lee/Ko mampu memimpin perolehan skor menjadi 16-15. Serangan bertubi-tubi yang dihujankan Hendra/Ahsan ke pertahanan Lee/Ko membuat keduanya terus berlari meninggalkan lawannya tersebut hingga kedudukan match point 20-18.

Pengembalian Hendra yang salah diantisipasi Lee/Ko membuat poin kemenangan diraih oleh Hendra/Ahsan.

"Hari ini kami bermain cukup baik, sebelumnya kami sudah mempelajari permainan mereka bersama pelatih. Kami menerapkan permainan menyerang dari awal, defense lawan memang bagus dan tidak gampang mati" jelas Hendra.

Prestasi ini menyamai pencapaian tahun lalu dimana Indonesia juga meraih satu gelar lewat pemain tunggal putra Simon Santoso.

(Jakarta, 15/6/2013) Akhirnya satu tempat di final Djarum Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2013 berhasil diduduki wakil Indonesia selaku tuan rumah. Pasangan ganda putra Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan menyelamatkan muka Indonesia setelah tiga wakil lainnya terhenti di semifinal hari ini.

Hendra/Ahsan melaju setelah mengalahkan pasangan Rusia, Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov dengan pertarungan rubber game, 21-10, 20-22, 21-14. Menang mudah di game pertama, Hendra/Ahsan sempat keteran menghadapi dua pemain berpostur tinggi ini.

"Pada game kedua, pasangan Rusia ini mengubah pola permainan, kami banyak tertekan" kata Ahsan.

"Permainan lawan lebih keluar pada game kedua, mereka sudah in. Sayangnya kami belum siap akan perubahan ini, untung pada game ketiga kami lebih siap" ujar Hendra menambahkan.

Pada kedudukan 17-14 untuk keunggulannya, Ahsan sempat meminta pertolongan dokter pertandingan karena kelingking kanannya mengalami luka akibat tergesek karpet lapangan saat ia ingin mengambil bola.

Hendra/Ahsan masih menunggu lawannya di babak final besok, mereka akan bertemu antara dua pasangan Korea, Lee Yong Dae/Ko Sung Hyun atau Shin Baek Choel/Yoo Yeon Seong.

(Djarum Indonesia Open 2013) Di Hadapan Publik Istora, Taufik Akhiri Karirnya

(Jakarta, 16/6/2013) Taufik Hidayat akhirnya sampai di penghujung karir bulu tangkisnya. Setelah 17 tahun menjadi salah satu pemain nasional terbaik Indonesia, Taufik secara resmi mengakhiri karirnya di hadapan publik Istora Senayan sesaat sebelum dimulainya final Djarum Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2013.

"Tak terasa sudah 25 tahun saya berkarir di bulu tangkis. Terima kasih atas semua dukungan yang telah diberikan kepada saya. Terima kasih untuk Djarum, PBSI, orangtua, istri, anak-anak saya dan semua fans yang tak henti-hentinya memberi dukungan. Semoga sepeninggalan saya bulu tangkis Indonesia semakin maju dan para pemain junior bisa meneruskan kejayaan bulu tangkis" kata Taufik.

Ajang Djarum Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2013 menjadi turnamen terakhir bagi Taufik. Ia terhenti di babak pertarma dari Sai Praneeth dari India.

Pada kesempatan ini, PBSI memberikan piagam penghargaan kepada medali emas Olimpiade Athena 2004 ini sebagai salah satu atlet terbaik Indonesia. Penghargaan ini diserahkan langsung oleh Ketua Umum PP PBSI Gita Wirjawan.

"Bagi saya, tidak ada yang namanya mantan juara, sekali juara adalah tetap juara selamanya. Once a champion,  always be a champion. Terima kasih Taufik dari bangsa dan tanah air Indonesia" kata Gita.

Taufik kemudian memberikan kenang-kenangan kepada PBSI berupa jersey yang sudah dibubuhi tanda tangannya serta karikatur Taufik dengan kalungan berbagai medali emas di lehernya. Selain itu Taufik juga memberikan raket terakhirnya kepada Jonathan Christie, sebagai bentuk simbolis penyerahan tongkat estafet kepada pemain muda selaku generasi penerus perjuangannya.

(Jakarta, 15/6/2013) Setelah tiga wakil gagal lolos ke babak final Djarum Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2013, harapan gelar juara kini berada di pundak pasangan ganda putra Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan.

Pasangan ganda campuran Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir, Tommy Sugiarto dan Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka harus terhenti di babak semifinal hari ini.

Hendra/Ahsan berhasil melewati rintangan di babak semifinal dengan mengalahkan Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov asal Rusia, dengan skor 21-10, 20-22, 21-14.

Sebagai satu-satunya wakil yang tersisa, Hendra/Ahsan yang kini berada di peringkat 13 dunia ini mengakui kalau mereka cukup terbebani. Akan tetapi keduanya tak ingin memberikan kemenangan begitu saja pada lawannya.

"Beban pasti ada, tapi lawan juga harus mati-matian kalau mau menang dari kami" ujar Ahsan lantang.

Perebutan gelar juara ganda putra besok merupakan partai ulangan final Malaysia Open Superseries 2013 yang juga mempertemukan Hendra/Ahsan dengan ganda putra andalan Korea, Lee Yong Dae/Ko Sung Hyun.

Hendra/Ahsan kala itu berhasil memenangkan pertandingan dan keluar sebagai juara.

"Kami sudah pernah bertemu dengan calon lawan besok, jadi sudah tahu permainannya seperti apa" kata Hendra menambahkan.

Partai final akan dilangsungkan pada pukul 12.00 WIB di stadion Istora Senayan. Berikut susunan pemain yang akan turun di babak final Djarum Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2013:

[K-pop] K.Will, 2AM and BTOB to Hold ‘Boys to Man’ Concert Together

From boys to men and all that’s in between, K.Will, 2AM, BTOB will be performing together in a special join concert.



On June 29, K.Will, 2AM, and BTOB will be holding the Boys to Man concert at the Kyunghee University’s Hall of Peace at 6:30 PM.

The joint concert will feature the voices of the BTOB members, who are in their early 20s, the 2AM members, who are in their mid-20s, and K.Will, who is now in his 30s. The differences in ages will allow the audience to feel the growth of men as they mature with age.

The production company in charge of this event stated that the concert was created to show how a young teen’s dreams can come true as an adult and be a burst of energy to those teenagers who are currently in despair.

It′s said that Big Bang Taeyang′s brother and rookie actor, Dong Hyun Bae, will also be giving a short talk on dreams and growth.

[K-pop] Kim Hyun Joong Rises to Top Ranks on the Oricon Charts Again

Kim Hyun Joong has done it again, as he′s sold a record-breaking number of copies of his new Japanese single album Tonight.

On the day of its release, June 5, Tonight sold 101,818 copies, making Kim Hyun Joong the foreign artist with the biggest sales on the Oricon that day.

It is the singer′s second album to sell over 100,000 copies on its first day after Heat, which was released on July 2012.



Tonight has been chasing SMAP′s 50th album on the Oricon Daily Chart, staying right behind it at no. 2.

Kim Hyun Joong has continued to promote in Japan, holding a tour in the country from January to March and attending other premium events for his fans.

He has been emerging as a strong player on the Japanese charts, as he landed in the country with Kiss Kiss/Lucky Guy by breaking the record for most sales on the first day as a foreign artist since the Oricon started releasing daily charts.

His second single album Heat topped Oricon Daily Charts and Weekly Charts, and landed on the no. 3 spot for its Monthly Chart, selling over 200,000 copies in total.

His first studio album Unlimited also shot to the top of the Oricon Daily Chart.



Kim Hyun Joong next plans to land in Korea on June 8 with a fanmeeting in Seoul, his 2013 KHJ Show - Party People.

[Issue] FT Island Celebrates Its Sixth Anniversary

FT Island held a little party of its own to celebrate its sixth anniversary.

On June 7, the members of the band said through their agency, "We want to sincerely thank our fans in celebration of our sixth anniversary, and we will continue to deliver good music in the future."



The band is currently promoting in Japan for its third studio album Rated-FT, to be released on June 12. From June 15 it will launch its FT Island Arena Tour 2013 - Freedom across seven cities in the country.

To celebrate their anniversary, the members held a small party with staff during their rehearsal. The day was also a good day for Lee Hong Gi as his big screen debut film Passionate Goodbye was to premiere in Japan on the same day.

Rated-FT contains a total of 11 tracks, including the promotional single Freedom and many self-written songs by the members.

[Issue] B2ST Calls All B2UTIES for Mysterious Event

There’s something going on that B2ST is not telling us just yet.

On June 7, B2ST’s official website changed, leaving fans dying in curiousity. Without any links or options to click, there was only a few words left on the site.

The colorful notice read, “B2UTY, come together!! June 15, 20:00.”

With no further information, whatever it is that B2ST is planning for its fans is still wrapped in mystery, but judging by the sudden announcement, something big is to happen on June 15 at 8PM (KST).

Could be an early comeback? A fanmeeting?

[Issue] Kim Soo Hyun Makes His Fans Cry Tears of Joy at His Fanmeeting

Kim Soo Hyun held a fanmeeting with his fans to celebrate the premiere of his film Be Covert, Be Great.



The event was held at a multiplex theater in Seoul on June 6. It preceded the launch of his official Japanese fanclub, which was to take place with a fanmeeting on June 30, and brought together Korean fans in a close and friendly gathering.

Tickets to the event were sold out just 20 minutes after purchase methods were announced through the actor′s official webpage.

As if to repay his fans for their passion and interest, Kim Soo Hyun led the event with a happy mood.

He took pictures with and gave presents to nine fans who were chosen through a lottery. To another fan who won a rock-paper-scissors game, he gave out a piece of clothing he wore during a shoot for the film.



Later on he read out a letter he had written himself, drawing tears from his fans.

"I′m very happy to be standing here as an actor," he said. "I′m also happy to be with all of you and your love. I′ll work hard to become a good actor."

Be Covert, Be Great has been rewriting Korean movie history by shooting through the million mark in just 36 hours.

[TV] Is 2PM′s Nichkhun Interested in Kim Yuna?

Speaking about their past relationships and ideal ladies, 2PM’s Nichkhun showed a bit of interest in gold medal figure skater, Kim Yuna.

In a recent recording of MBC’s The Quiz to Change the World, 2PM and MBLAQ appeared as guests and began talking about their experiences in dating.

MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and Seung Ho shared that they’ve dated women one year older than them, while 2PM’s Taecyeon and Nickhun respectively said they’ve dated women who were five and six years older than them.

On the reason why, Taecyeon said that older woman are more financially stable. “When I was a trainee, I didn’t earn money, so nuna always took care of everything.”

The talk of relationships eventually led the ideal types of these handsome idol stars. Lee Joon mentioned that he like a girl with sharp eyes without double eyelids, who also has a nice voice and body.

For Nichkhun, he mentioned that he likes athletes. “I like athletes. It doesn’t matter what sport it is, but I like athletes like Kim Yuna.”

When asked if he knows Kim Yuna personally, he added, “I would like to know more about Kim Yuna,” making everyone in the studio look at him suspiciously.

[TV] After School′s Lizzy Cast in Japanese Horror Drama ′Evil Spirit Ward′

After School′s Lizzy has been cast for a role in a horror drama in Japan.



The singer′s agency Pledis revealed on June 6 that "Lizzy will be appearing as a cameo in the MBS/TBS nighttime drama Evil Spirit Ward, which will start airing in July."

Lizzy will appear as Tae Hee, a Korean student who has been admitted to the hospital where the drama is set in.

Lizzy said about her role, "I was nervous because I scare easily, but I was able to pull through thanks to the director and staff. The scene I appear in is important in setting the horror mood, so make sure you don′t miss it."

Her role isn′t her first in a drama. She′s appeared in the sitcom All My Love and the drama Rascal Sons.

In the meantime, After School will be making a comeback on June 13.
